A terrace is a layered hilly planting area. In terraced fields, artificial or pipeline water delivery measures are generally used to maintain soil and water in layers to avoid rapid ground runoff caused by irrigation water.

1. Yuanyang Terraces

It is located in the southern part of Ailao Mountain in Yuanyang County, Yunnan Province. It is a masterpiece left by Hani people for generations. Yuanyang terraces are the core area of Honghe Hani terraces. Yuanyang terraces are landscape paintings that the Hani people have been "carving" endlessly for more than 1300 years.
